Titanium Twins

I just realized last night that both my husband and I have titanium in our bodies. How many couples can say that? He has a vasectomy and I have my bone plates and screws.

Good thing titanium is not...uh...magnetic.

I've started reading your blog yesterday and must say, It's a fine reading. Well done. Keep writting.

I'm thinking of the surgery as well but a lot of BIG and UNPLEASANT unanswered questions and things are still in my head.

One of them is "How will I feel with the titanium in my ... mouth?" Oh, it's crazy a little bit, isn't it? My (maybe future) surgeon told me it'd be thin splint or what and I'd not feel it. But, I will know about it!!

How can you feel with the strange titanium things in your mouth? In fact, I'm afraid of it a little bit.

Hi Eddie. Thanks. I love to write. :-)

Well, the titanium isn't IN your mouth, really. It's under your skin on your face. I can feel the hardware on my upper jaw on either side of my nose when I press on my skin, but it doesn't bother me. Feels kinda cool, actually. I can't feel it on my chin yet because I'm still numb and sore there.

I see you're sitting at home and browsing now :-) Five minutes for answer, great time. Point for you. :-)

I know it's not in your mouth, but under skin. One way or another you've got titanium in your body. That's the feeling I'm not able to imagine.

Actually, I must say I have to make THE decision soon. I'm being in similar situation as you were two years ago. So I'll be reading your blog probably every day and ... taking courage.:-)

Ok...Rebecca, I almost hate to ask this, but my curiosity is killing me so I must.

How does your husband have Titanium in him from a vasectomy? My husband has one of those too, I was there for the whole procedure and no metal of any kind was used with him.

You must explain this...enquiring minds want to know ;)

He has titanium clamps in there. He was under 30 when he had it done so they wanted to do a method that was easily reversable. They didn't go for the cut and burn method with him.
