March 2 it is.

So yesterday I was supposed to see a 2nd oral surgeon, Dr. P. But I had a heinous migraine that kept me in bed all day, vomitting, so I cancelled. Now I can't get another appointment with him until next month, which is obviously too late. I go in two weeks to get my pre-surg stuff done for the March 2 surgery. So I decided to take a leap of faith and stick with Dr. C. I want this done so bad now I can't wait longer than a month. I'm a believer that everything works out the way it's supposed to and everything happens for a reason, so there you go.

There's so much to do in the next few weeks. I have to get my taxes done and out of the way. I have to deep clean the house. I have to get my teeth cleaned. I have to get my kids to the dentist too. I have to see my doctor and ask about anti-anxiety meds so I can get some sleep and get through this month.

I'm also a believer that preparation=relaxation. I doubt I'll be relaxed, but having everything ready and taken care of will take some of the load off, I'm sure.

Sorry about the migraine--bleackk. Congrats on the surgery date, too! That's really soon! I agree that preparation will help you relax. I was really stressing a couple of weeks ago, but the closer I get, the more relaxed I am, because I realize I won't really be out that long, and I'm feeling like I'm getting most of my stuff done. Hey, good luck!!

Hi Rebecca, I hope you don't mind the unsolicted advice but I highly recommend that you do not use any type of anti-anxiety meds to get through this. Benzos are about the worst drug on the planet (you can go to the yahoo benzo group or better go to benzo.org.uk to see how they ruin people's lives even after only short term use). My doctor prescribed benzos to me when I was in my 20's and they caused me to have, unbeknownst to me, rebound anxiety and panic attacks. Benzos alter your own abilities brain to calm down even after short term use. The drug companies won't tell you and the doctors don't know/don't believe it. You are better off doing yoga exercises and meditation and finding natural ways to relax. Worrying about the surgery beforehand is actually worse than going to the hospital and going through with it, it's really almost a piece of cake. Good luck, Mary

Hi Mary. Thank you for that. After reading your post I researched online for a long time, and have decided to stay clear of the benzos. :)

Hi Rebecca, Yeah! I posted my benzo story on my blog. By the way, one thing that helps me sometimes is the Tazo calm tea. It even helps me through a panic attack sometimes. By the way, will you be posting some "before" pictures before your surgery? Mary

Mmmm. I love Tazo calm tea. I used to work at Starbucks and got it for free. :)

Yes, I will be posting before pics the few days before my surgery.
